Scenic North Lewis

St. Moluag’s Church and Butt of Lewis Lighthouse Explore the seafaring heritage of Lewis and a medieval church during a visit to the isle’s northern shores. Board your motor coach and leave charming Stornoway behind as you embark on a picturesque journey through the countryside—a patchwork of farmland, rolling hills and peat bogs dotted with small villages. Arrive at the Port of Ness to explore the local art on display at the Harbour View Gallery, which celebrates the town's seafaring heritage. Afterward, continue on to St. Moluag’s, a 13th-century church whose origins are shrouded in mystery. Explore this ancient stone structure and learn about its history before heading to the northernmost tip of the isle and the windiest location in the United Kingdom, the Butt of Lewis. Stop for photos of the famous lighthouse, known for its unpainted red-brick facade. After time atop this windswept cliff, you will return to your ship. * Easy - Walking portions are generally over easy surfaces with few steps or inclines. Total time walking or standing is normally not longer than 1.5 hours.
