Marine Life of the Isle of Mull
Learn the Art of Creeling and View Ocean Wildlife Explore the highlights of Tobermory from the sea and learn about life below the ocean waves. At the pier, meet your skipper, don your life jacket and board your boat before setting sail onto the waters of the Sound of Mull in search of marine life. Soak up the stunning scenery as you sail and listen to interesting narrative about Tobermory’s history that spans centuries. You will then explore the small coves around the bay in search of wildlife. From the coast, lines of colorful buoys will be visible which indicate the location of creels. Watch in anticipation as your skipper hauls in the creel in search of marine life, such as lobster and crabs, placing them in the viewing tank for you to observe. You can even try your hand at hauling a creel. All creatures will be returned to the sea before returning to your ship. * Moderate - Walking portions may be long and somewhat challenging with occasional step-ups, stairs and inclines.
