Historic Highlands

The West Highland Line, Local Whiskey and Wartime Memorials See notable sights and sample local spirits during an informative journey through the Scottish Highlands. Meet your guide and board your motor coach, headed west toward Glenfinnan. Learn about the history of Fort William as you travel to this small village. It is home to an impressive railway viaduct, part of the legendary West Highland Line and famously featured in the Harry Potter movie series. Here, you will also see the Glenfinnan Monument, a tribute to those who fought for the Jacobite cause during the uprising of 1745. Continue to Ben Nevis Distillery, located at the foot of the United Kingdom’s tallest mountain, where you will have a guided visit followed by a sampling of local whiskeys. Enjoy the views of Ben Nevis at the Commando Memorial, unveiled in 1952 by the late Queen Mother, before returning to your coach for the drive back to your awaiting ship. * Moderate - Walking portions may be long and somewhat challenging with occasional step-ups, stairs and inclines. Total time walking or standing normally ranges from 1.5 to 3 hours.
