Highlights of Orkney by E-Bike

Ride to View Historic Sights Pedal with ease on an electric bike to visit some of Orkney’s most fascinating landmarks. Meet your guide, then transfer to the west of Mainland, Orkney’s largest island, where you will receive a short safety briefing before hopping on an e-bike. Cycle to Barony Mill, the area’s only working water mill since 1873, where bere, an ancient form of barley, is ground for flour that locals use for baking. Next, ride to the ruins of the 16th-century Earl’s Palace, built by the 1st Earl of Orkney. Continue to the 17th-century St. Magnus Church and enjoy a brief stop to learn about its history. After, head to a spot favored by locals, the Birsay Bay Tea Room, for lunch with sea views. Cap your excursion with a stop at the dramatic cliffs of Marwick Head Nature Reserve to see impressive Kitchener Memorial tower, commemorating an early 1900s battleship that sunk nearby. * Demanding - Physically challenging activities, including extensive walks, hiking, riding, water sports, and high altitude activities. Activities by foot may contain difficult, unpaved surfaces and/or multiple stairs and steep inclines. Total time walking or standing may exceed 3 hours.
