Bunker at REGAN Vest
Ålborg, Denmark

Bunker at REGAN Vest

Well-Kept Danish Secret Opens Its Doors Descend below the surface to discover a piece of Cold War history at the REGAN Vest bunker. One of two bunkers built in secrecy during the 1960s to house the Danish government and monarch in case of World War III, REGAN Vest resides approximately 180 feet below ground in a chalk hill. Your drive deep into the woods of the Rold Forest will go to the museum’s striking above-ground reception and exhibition building. Browse the intriguing collection of artifacts that tell the story of the Cold War in Denmark, then head underground for a riveting tour of the bunker itself. The facility consists of four concrete rings that lie on top of each other, two- by-two, with everything that would have been needed to sustain life, including a kitchen, storage room, medical clinic, engine room and more. Return to the surface, then board your motor coach and return to your ship. * Moderate - Walking portions may be long and somewhat challenging with occasional step-ups, stairs and inclines. Total time walking or standing normally ranges from 1.5 to 3 hours.
