Coastal Walk & Craft Workshop

Mount Maunganui and Traditional Māori Crafts Stroll through Mount Maunganui township and learn about Māori heritage during a guided walk and craft workshop. Set out on foot for Mauao, also known as Mount Maunganui, where you will embark on a guided walk around its slopes and visit a selection of local venues. Along the way, you will see public art installations, a centuries-old pōhutukawa tree and the Mount Maunganui Community Gardens—a community hub shaped by values of sustainability, sharing and togetherness. As you explore, your guide will share stories about Māori legends and history, providing valuable insight into enduring traditions. After, roll up your sleeves for a hands-on workshop, where you will discover traditional Māori crafts and connect with the region’s cultural heritage on a deeper level. At the end of your excursion, return to your awaiting ship. * Demanding - Physically challenging activities, including extensive walks, hiking, riding, water sports, and high altitude activities.
