Savor Artisan Produce and Wine Tasting Head out to a private retreat for a tasting of local artisan products and savor a barbecue lunch. At the pier, meet your guide and head into the countryside for a culinary experience to share their fondness for fresh, local produce. Begin at a family-owned farm shop, where you will shop for ingredients and enjoy morning tea. Ingredients in hand, return to your motor coach for a scenic drive to view Muriwai Beach, one of New Zealand’s spectacular black-sand surf beaches. Arrive at The Vineyard Cottages and enjoy a tour of the grounds, its vineyards and a wine tasting. You will then take your seat to sample a selection of local cheese and other artisan produce, including honey, known for its medicinal benefits. A delicious barbecue lunch follows, accompanied by vegetables and herbs from the garden and a range of salad dishes. Your appetite sated, return to your ship. * Moderate - Walking portions may be long and somewhat challenging with occasional step-ups, stairs and inclines.
