Scenic Sitka & Theatrical Performance

A Panoramic Tour of Sitka’s Sights and Energetic Show Enjoy Sitka and its stunning setting on the Gulf of Alaska as you discover its fascinating landmarks. Board your motor coach and join a local guide, who will tell stories of the legends and lore of this small city, first settled by Russians in 1799. See Castle Hill, where the territory of Alaska was officially transferred from Russia to the US in 1867, and the cratered peak of Mt. Edgecumbe, a nearby dormant volcano. Your panoramic tour will also take you past Sitka Sound, where you can gaze out at the many small, forested islands dotting the water. At Centennial Hall, see a theatrical performance by the Alaska Story Teller Dancers. Then, return to the cruise terminal and head into the Alaska Odyssey Theater, where you will watch a short film about Alaska on a 5-story high, domed screen. After your immersive experience, you will return to your ship. * Moderate - Walking portions may be long and somewhat challenging with occasional step-ups, stairs and inclines. Total time walking or standing normally ranges from 1.5 to 3 hours.
