Stikine Icecap Flightseeing
Bird’s-Eye Vistas of Alaskan Wilderness by Plane Admire magnificent views of the majestic Stikine Icecap during a 35-minute flight over the wild Alaskan landscape. The innumerable glaciers situated between the Taku and Stikine Rivers are all birthed from this massive, seemingly endless icefield—the largest of its kind in Alaska. At the airfield in Wrangell, you will meet your experienced pilot, a lifelong Alaskan native, and board your airplane before taking off for higher altitudes. Get a bird’s-eye view of Alaska’s untamed natural beauty as you fly across the Stikine River Delta to the icecap and LeConte Glacier, where you will follow the southernmost tidewater glacier in the US to its origin. See the jagged summits of the Witches Cauldron and Devils Thumb mountains before soaring over the length of Shakes Glacier, then down the Stikine River and back to Wrangell.
