Captain’s Choice Glacier Viewing

Cruise the Stikine Icecap to One of Alaska’s Famous Glaciers Take a fast-paced jetboat ride to one of Alaska’s famous glaciers located in the Stikine Icecap. All glaciers between the Taku and Stikine Rivers are created from this massive icefield—the largest of its kind in Alaska. These include the likes of Le Conte and Shakes Glaciers. Meet your captain and guide at the pier, then board your jetboat and set out. Depending on the weather and water levels, your captain will choose the best route and glacier for your excursion. You may head up rainforest-lined channels to LeConte Glacier, the US’s southernmost tidewater glacier where blue-tinged icebergs calve off the glacier’s face. Or, cruise through the wetlands of the lower Stikine to Shakes Glacier, nestled in a steep valley at the edge of its namesake lake.
