Taku Glacier by Helicopter & Airboat

Sweeping Aerial Views and an Up-Close Look at a Glacier Venture into the heart of the Alaskan wilderness by helicopter and airboat en route to the scenic Taku Glacier. Meet your helicopter pilot and guide, then take off for an aerial exploration of the expansive snow-swept environment of the Juneau Icefield and surrounding Tongass National Forest. Marvel at the panoramic views from above before touching down and boarding an airboat for the second leg of your excursion. Get an up-close look at this immense glacier—stretching more than 36 miles—as you cruise its five-mile-long terminus along the Taku River. Cap your journey with an invigorating hike across the glacier. Admire its jagged peaks, and observe glacial calving—nature permitting—and the many deep crevasses dotting the expanse while keeping watch for wildlife. Afterward, you will return to the harbor and your awaiting ship. Please note: a liability waiver must be signed to participate in this tour. Maximum weight limit is 250 lbs.
