Striking Scenery and Wildlife at Chilkoot Lake Paddle around picturesque Chilkoot Lake in a kayak during this idyllic excursion into the wilds of Alaska. Nestled in the foothills of the Takshanuk Mountains, the lake is surrounded by stunning natural beauty. Take a scenic drive up the coast to the placid waters of Chilkoot Lake. Upon arrival, receive a safety briefing and your flotation vest, then take a seat in your kayak. Paddle with your guide onto the lake, where you will enjoy the next 90 minutes amid the breathtaking scenery for which Alaska is famous. Admire jagged mountain peaks, blue-tinged glaciers and verdant Sitka spruce trees as you keep watch for otters, bald eagles, bears and more.
