American Bald Eagle Foundation
Alaskan Birds of Prey and Natural History Get up close to Alaska’s majestic birds of prey during an informative visit to the American Bald Eagle Foundation. Collect your map and set off through Fort Seward, the first US military base in Alaska. Choose your own pace as you head toward the American Bald Eagle Foundation, exploring on foot or climbing aboard the narrated shuttle. During your journey, you will stop at two interactive stations, the Haines Sheldon Museum—dedicated to preserving and interpreting the area’s Tinglit heritage, settler history and military legacy—and the Hammer Museum. Along the way, enjoy a tasting of smoked salmon and learn about Fort Seward’s history and local wildlife. Upon arrival at the American Bald Eagle Foundation’s Raptor Center, meet expert handlers and naturalists and learn more about these beautiful birds of prey. After time to explore, return to your ship on foot or via the shuttle service.
