Secrets of Seafood

Cook with an Alaskan Chef During a Small-Group Lesson Savor the taste of fresh Alaskan seafood during a hands-on lesson with a local chef. More than 627 different species of fish and countless numbers of crab inhabit Alaska’s waters. During this small-group excursion, you will learn how to determine the finest quality at the market, how to make seasonal choices and local methods for preparing the catch. Travel to a local kitchen, where your host will present you with a small variety of the season’s available seafood. Don your apron and work with your host to prepare a dish based on one of his recipes. You may learn how to clean a crab, fillet a salmon, skin a halibut or perfectly steam a Dungeness crab. Afterward, sit and sample your mouthwatering creation before returning to your ship with the recipe and a special gift. Please note: A liability waiver must be signed to participate in this tour.
