Wild Bears of Anan

A Scenic Boat Trip and Wildlife Viewing Head into the Alaskan wilderness to see bears in their natural habitat at the Anan Bear and Wildlife Observatory. Your destination is the Anan Creek trailhead, one of the most famous bear viewing sites in North America. Upon arrival, you will have a brief orientation led by US Forest Service rangers. The trail ends at a secluded observation deck perched on the banks of the salmon-filled creek, where you can observe wild black and brown bears in their natural habitat. The viewing platforms are set in ideal spots for watching the bears as they forage through the brush and attempt to catch salmon swimming upstream. After, return to your awaiting ship. A liability waiver must be signed to participate in this tour. Wildlife sightings are not guaranteed. * Moderate - Walking portions may be long and somewhat challenging with occasional step-ups, stairs and inclines.
