Scenic Helicopter Ride and Guided Walk on a Famous Glacier Enjoy a scenic helicopter ride over the wilds of Alaska and walk the famous Mendenhall Glacier. At the heliport, meet your pilot and guides and receive your gear. Once airborne, your experienced pilot will safely transport you over the spectacular Alaskan landscape. Admire the verdant rainforests of the Tongass National Forest, snowy alpine ridges and glacial valleys below you as you make your way to the glacier. Before touching down, enjoy a bird’s-eye view of the vast blue glacier ice, deep crevasses, spectacular ice falls and jagged peaks of the Mendenhall Towers. Upon landing, follow your guides on a 25-minute walk over this rugged and fascinating terrain. Explore meltwater pools and learn how glaciers are created.
