Chilkat Bald Eagle Preserve by Raft

Beautiful Alaskan Landscapes and Wildlife Sightings Raft down the Chilkat River while experiencing the incredible beauty of the Alaskan wilderness. Board a catamaran for a scenic cruise, then transfer to a motor coach for a panoramic drive up the National Scenic Byway to the Chilkat Bald Eagle Preserve. This state park is a refuge for several hundred of these magnificent birds. Meet your experienced guides and embark on a leisurely float down the river on an 18-foot inflatable raft. Keep watch for the local wildlife that frequents the riverbanks due to the abundance of salmon inhabiting the waters; you may see eagles, bears and wolves roaming the shores. You will also pass the village of Klukwan, home to the Tlingit for centuries. Return to your staging area and enjoy a riverside picnic lunch before returning to your ship.
