Enjoy Panoramic Views from Atop Hoonah Mountain Take a ride in a gondola to the summit of Hoonah Mountain and journey through the forest by tram. Meet your guide and board your state-of-the-art gondola with your all-access pass, then enjoy the panoramic views from the floor-to-ceiling glass windows. Ascend to more than 1,500 feet, where you will board an open-air tram for a round trip ride in the fresh mountain air. Journey through old-growth forest, admiring the Sitka spruce, western hemlock and wildflowers that line the road. Marvel at the views over a mountain lake as your guide describes the region’s flora and fauna and explains how the island’s Tlingit people are connected to the wonderful nature of this rich landscape. Pause for photos at the viewpoint and capture the snowcapped mountains as you gaze down at the city of Hoonah and the port below.
