Artistic San Sperate

Vibrant Village-Wide Murals and “Sound Garden” Sculptures Discover the charm of San Sperate, an “open air museum” of vibrant murals and intriguing sculptures. Embark on a scenic drive by motor coach, stopping along the way for photos at the imposing whitewashed facade of the Santuario Madonna di Bonaria and sweeping views of Cagliari from atop Mount Urpino. Travel through the fertile plains of Campidano, renowned for its fragrant orchards and gardens. Upon arrival in San Sperate, enjoy a guided stroll while learning about the local history and discovering the more than 400 murals by local and international artists that decorate the village’s walls and buildings. Admire the blend of art and nature at the Giardino Sonoro (“Sound Garden”), famous local sculptor Pinuccio Sciola’s fascinating installation comprised of monoliths and the echoes of massive granite slabs that live harmoniously within their bucolic citrus garden setting. * Moderate - Walking portions may be long and somewhat challenging with occasional step-ups, stairs and inclines. Total time walking or standing normally ranges from 1.5 to 3 hours.
