The Picturesque Town of Sitges

Charming Coastal Resort on the Mediterranean Enjoy a scenic southward drive by motor coach to explore Sitges, on the Mediterranean coast. Sheltered by the Garraf Massif mountain range, it enjoys a warm microclimate and is famous for its 2½ miles of beach and charming Old Town. Its most striking landmark is the 17th-century Church of Sant Bartomeu i Santa Tecla, sitting on a rocky elevation that separates the main beach from the smaller, quieter Sant Sebastià Beach. The Town Hall, built between 1887 and 1889 on the site of the medieval castle, is considered one of the finest examples of Catalan civil Gothic-style architecture due to its ornate design and its coats of arms. The beachfront promenade features turn-of-the-20th-century colonial-style Indiano mansions. On a walking tour, your local guide will show you the beauty of this Catalan town. Afterward, enjoy some light tapas before returning to your ship. * Moderate - Walking portions may be long and somewhat challenging with occasional step-ups, stairs and inclines. Total time walking or standing normally ranges from 1.5 to 3 hours.
