Journey to Sea Lions & Penguins

Close-Up Look at Marine Wildlife in the Scenic Beagle Channel Cruise the famous Beagle Channel on board a catamaran in search of lounging sea lions and a penguin colony. At the pier, board your vessel and set out into the channel toward its coastal islands. Stop beside Isla de los Pájaros (“Bird Island”), home to steamer ducks, cormorants and petrels. After time for photos, sail to Isla de Los Lobos (“Sea Wolves Island”), named after the sea lions that occupy it. Observe them up close as they bark and jostle on the rocks. Continue to Les Eclaireurs Lighthouse and gaze up at Argentina’s southernmost structure. Its red-and-white tower is one of the country’s most photographed landmarks. At Martillo Island, observe Magellanic penguins; these curious creatures make for great photo opportunities. On your return to the pier, pass the northern coast of the Beagle Channel, where you will see Tunel Ranch and the region’s famous wind-shaped trees. * Easy - Walking portions are generally over easy surfaces with few steps or inclines. Total time walking or standing is normally not longer than 1.5 hours.
