Meet your guide at the pier, don your helmet and after a short safety briefing, set off by e-scooter. Equipped with front and rear brakes, your e-scooter features a single seat providing a leisurely ride in total comfort. Along the way, your guide will tell the story of the 1973 eruption of the Eldfell volcano, releasing lava flows that threatened to destroy the village and reshaped the landscape. All 5,000 inhabitants managed to evacuate the island and escape to the mainland; witness the results of their efforts to rebuild. Arrive at the puffin colony and pause to view them in their natural habitat as you hear about the town’s conservation efforts to protect these delightful seabirds and more of the local wildlife.
