Best of Gaspé & Surroundings

Nature, History and World War II Past Immerse yourself in nature as you explore Forillon National Park and visit the charming center of Gaspé. Set out on a panoramic drive through the beautiful landscapes, arriving at Fort Peninsula to uncover a piece of little-known World War II history. Explore the old naval base before continuing your journey to the Cap-Bon-Ami to admire its various rock formations, colonies of seabirds and Arctic-alpine plantlife. At the Cap des Rosiers Lighthouse, the tallest in Canada, view its white marble walls and powerful light that stands 112 feet high, making it quite an imposing sight. After, you will visit the Manoir Le Boutiller, originally the home of a leading cod merchant. The manor has been restored to its former 19th-century glory. Cap your excursion with a stop at a local restaurant and savor a delicious menu of regional fare en route back to your ship. * Moderate - Walking portions may be long and somewhat challenging with occasional step-ups, stairs and inclines. Total time walking or standing normally ranges from 1.5 to 3 hours.
