Landmarks of Valdez Harbor by Catamaran

The Workings of the Northernmost Ice-Free Port in the United States Discover the beauty and the history of the port of Valdez during a cruise by catamaran jet boat. Meet your guide at the pier and board your vessel, then set sail into the harbor. Sail past the Old Town Hatchery and hear about the millions of salmon that pass through this fish ladder each year. View the Trans-Alaska Pipeline System and learn about its important role connecting the oil fields of northern Alaska to Valdez, a distance spanning 800 miles with 11 pump stations. See the Valdez Container Terminal and its almost 700-foot floating concrete dock. Your knowledgeable crew will explain the workings of the terminal, and its impact on the local supply chain network. Cap your tour with a stop to check the shrimp pots and assist the captain with hauling in his catch. * Easy - Walking portions are generally over easy surfaces with few steps or inclines. Total time walking or standing is normally not longer than 1.5 hours.
