The North Coast

Tour Newfoundland’s Dramatic Coast by Fishing Boat Join a local family on their fishing boat for a scenic sail among sea life and coastal cliffs. You will meet your guide for a picturesque drive to St. Anthony, on the northern tip of the Great Northern Peninsula. Then meet your hosts, the Alcock family, on board their 47-passenger Cape Islander, and set off along the coast near Fishing Point. During your excursion, you might see humpback whales, which typically stay along the coast in September. Keep your eyes open, too, for dolphins, seals, sea turtles and minke, fin and orca whales. As you explore the coast and keep watch for spouts, the Alcocks will regale you with tales both real and rumored in this land of Vikings, moose, salmon and caribou. After a two-hour cruise and an enriching up-close view of this remote and tranquil coastline, you will bid your new friends farewell and return to your ship. * Easy - Walking portions are generally over easy surfaces with few steps or inclines. Total time walking or standing is normally not longer than 1.5 hours.
