Snapshots of Santa Cruz de La Palma
Scenic Viewpoints and Island Architecture See La Palma’s distinctive architecture and visit two elevated viewpoints for different perspectives of the island. Board your motor coach and embark on a short drive to Mirador de La Concepción, where you will take in sweeping views of the city and the port of Santa Cruz de La Palma. After time for photographs, continue through the agricultural community of Puntallana toward Mirador de San Bartolo, located at an altitude of around 1,440 feet. Here, you will see a sculpture depicting the legend of a lovelorn shepherd, whose tragic tale gave the viewpoint its name. Then, head to Avenida Maritima, a seafront walkway lined with houses built in the Portuguese style. View these high, narrow buildings, which feature double balconies looking out onto the sea, decorated with intricate latticework and often painted with bright colors. At the end of your excursion, return to your awaiting ship. * Easy - Walking portions are generally over easy surfaces with few steps or inclines.
