Palma de Mallorca, Spain

Palma & Valldemossa

From a Historic Capital to a Valley’s Charming Village Gain a city view and a country view of Mallorca on a panoramic tour of its capital and one of its beloved villages. Drive with your guide along Palma’s yacht-filled waterfront. Stop to see the interior of the magnificent Gothic Cathedral and view the facade of Almudaina Palace. Pass through the city’s Old Quarter with its Gothic and modernist buildings and see the lively Ramblas pedestrian zone. In Valldemossa, nestled in a wooded valley on a northern mountain range, visit the famous Carthusian Monastery. Originally a royal residence, this building was occupied by Carthusian monks from 1399 until 1835 and was home to musician and composer Frederick Chopin and writer George Sand in the winter of 1838. Pause for sangria and lunch in the village, with free time to explore. En route back to your ship, take in spectacular views of the Bay of Palma from hilltop Bellver Castle. * Moderate - Walking portions may be long and somewhat challenging with occasional step-ups, stairs and inclines. Total time walking or standing normally ranges from 1.5 to 3 hours.
