Snorkel Through an Underwater World at a Renowned Reef Explore the striking underwater world of one of Dominica’s most renowned reefs at the famed Champagne Beach. Perched on the edge of a submerged volcano, the reef gets its name from the bubbling waters rising from the ocean floor’s thermal springs, which give visitors the feeling of swimming through a giant glass of champagne. Take a drive to the black-sand beach, where you will receive your snorkeling gear and a short safety briefing, then follow your PADI-certified guide from shore into the water. Marvel at the array of colors around you while you swim, admiring the diverse array of sea life that calls the reef home; you may encounter octopuses, rays, trumpetfish and parrotfish, hawksbill turtles and tiny seahorses.
