Tobago Highlights & Folkloric Show
Scenic Scarborough, Mount Irvine and Store Bay Discover the history and culture of Tobago during a scenic drive around the island and a folkloric performance. View Fort King George, the city’s dominant feature, built by the British in 1777. Enjoy its well-restored colonial buildings, Tobago Museum and sweeping vistas of the town and the windward coast as you pass Government House Road. Stop briefly at the “mystery tombstone,” whose inscription has intrigued residents for more than two centuries. The epitaph for Betty Stiven has conjured several theories as to its meaning. Admire the panoramic views along the coast from Fort James, then head to Mount Irvine, a scenic stretch of road lined with a number of hotels overlooking the turquoise Caribbean Sea. Stop in Store Bay for an opportunity to browse through the locally made handicrafts in its market. At the Canaan/Bon Accord Community Center, sip on a refreshing rum punch or fruit juice while enjoying a colorful folkloric performance. * Moderate - Walking portions may be long and somewhat challenging with occasional step-ups, stairs and inclines.
