The Mary Rose Museum

World’s Only Surviving Tudor-Era Ship on Display Discover the history of the Tudor battleship Mary Rose , from her tragic sinking to her rediscovery and recovery. King Henry VIII’s prized flagship served England for 33 years before her demise during the Battle of Solent in 1545. Raised in 1982, her remnants are proudly displayed in their own dedicated museum. Travel to the museum, where you will soak up the atmosphere of the world’s only surviving Tudor-era ship. Meet your experienced guide, who will lead you through the three viewing floors that surround the ship’s hull. Immerse yourself in Tudor life through a collection of artifacts and learn about the men who served on board. After your visit, you will set out to explore the historic dockyard. Your tour will conclude with a panoramic drive through Portsmouth’s old town en route to your ship. * Moderate - Walking portions may be long and somewhat challenging with occasional step-ups, stairs and inclines. Total time walking or standing normally ranges from 1.5 to 3 hours.
