Fife & St. Andrews

Coastal Vistas and Medieval Landmarks Take in the natural beauty of Scotland’s east coast and call at historic St. Andrews. Travel by motor coach to the East Neuk of Fife, a seaside stretch known for its quaint fishing villages, colorful houses and scenic harbors. It is home to the Fife Coastal Path, a 117-mile route offering sweeping ocean views, which you will explore on foot before continuing to St. Andrews. Also known as the “Home of Golf,” the iconic Old Course can be found here—it is credited as the oldest golf course in the world, with play recorded as early as the 15th century. The town is also home to Scotland’s oldest university, founded in 1413, and the famed St. Andrews Cathedral. Once Scotland’s largest church, today it houses a museum displaying medieval artifacts. After your investigation of this historic town, head to a local restaurant for lunch, then return to your awaiting ship. * Moderate - Walking portions may be long and somewhat challenging with occasional step-ups, stairs and inclines. Total time walking or standing normally ranges from 1.5 to 3 hours.
