Local Village & Ream National Park

Daily Village Life and Boat Ride Among the Mangroves Experience rural Cambodia during a local village visit and a boat ride among the mangroves of Ream National Park. Take a drive into Cambodia’s rolling countryside, where you will stop at Wat Samathi, a Buddhist temple that offers sweeping views of Ream National Park from atop Phnom Samathik, or “Meditation Mountain.” Upon arrival at the village, you will meet your host, who will welcome you and tell you more about daily life. Watch a demonstration on how to make a traditional Khmer cake, then enjoy a snack of exotic fruits and fresh coconut. Continue to the park, officially named Preah Sihanouk National Park but known as “Ream” because it is located in the Ream commune. Ream’s expansive acres boast a range of indigenous flora, including mangroves, evergreen forests, rivers and coral reefs. Here, enjoy a relaxing boat ride through the jungle and mangroves before returning to your ship. * Moderate - Walking portions may be long and somewhat challenging with occasional step-ups, stairs and inclines. Total time walking or standing normally ranges from 1.5 to 3 hours.
