Great Barrier Reef & Museum of Underwater Art

Undersea Art, Science and Culture by Snorkel Experience a fascinating underwater museum during a snorkeling excursion to the Great Barrier Reef. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the iconic Great Barrier Reef is composed of almost 3,000 individual reefs and 900 islands that stretch across 1,400 miles off the coast of Australia. You will board a vessel for the journey to John Brewer Reef, a naturally formed coral cove that showcases some of the reef’s most pristine and healthy ecosystems. Upon arrival, grab your snorkeling gear and slip into the water for an exploration of the reef and a visit to the Museum of Underwater Art, home to a series of undersea installations. See the Coral Greenhouse and its 20 coral-propagating sculptures and the Ocean Sentinels exhibition, which features statues of notable people, scientists and conservationists. Afterward, return to your vessel for lunch, then transfer back to your ship. * Moderate - Walking portions may be long and somewhat challenging with occasional step-ups, stairs and inclines. Total time walking or standing normally ranges from 1.5 to 3 hours.
