Tahune AirWalk & Apple Heritage Museum
Panoramic Forest Views from Above Tasmania’s Apple-Growing District Discover the natural beauty of Tasmania’s landscape and the island’s history as an apple producer. Embark your coach for a picturesque drive through the countryside en route to the Tahune AirWalk, an elevated steel walkway located in the Tahune Forest Reserve. Reaching as high as 160 feet in some places, it offers spectacular views of the surrounding forest and the Huon and Picton Rivers as you walk above the treetops. After a casual lunch, head to the town of Hounville, located on the banks of the Houn River and at the center of Tasmania’s apple-growing district. Stop at the Apple Heritage Museum, a former packing shed. Browse its exhibits, which include 500 different varieties of apple and numerous artifacts, and then sample an apple that has been freshly peeled by a vintage 1909 apple-peeling machine. After, head back to Hobart for a short city tour before returning to your ship. * Demanding - Physically challenging activities, including extensive walks, hiking, riding, water sports, and high altitude activities.
