Spend a Day Visiting the Area's Historic Museums Visit two renowned museums, one with an eye on the sky and the other looking to the southernmost continent. Drive with your guide to the Air Force Museum of New Zealand, whose fascinating collection offers unique hands-on exhibitions. During your guided tour, admire dozens of historic aircraft, including several from the Royal New Zealand Air Force, and hear captivating stories of the men and women who have served. Next, visit the International Antarctic Center, located on a working campus. Here, you can experience Antarctica up close through a series of interactive exhibits that simulate the harsh climate and provide insight into what it is like to live there and study its environment. You will also see the resident little blue penguins during your visit.
