Snapshots of Rotorua

The Best of the Bay of Plenty Visit Te Puia, home to the famous Pōhutu Geyser, discover Māori crafts and relax in a geothermal spring. Climb aboard your motor coach and embark on a panoramic drive toward Rotorua. Your first stop is Te Puia, located within the historic Te Whakarewarewa Geothermal Valley. You will enjoy a guided tour of its natural treasures, including boiling mud pools, hot springs and geysers. Learn about Māori crafts and culture during demonstrations of bone carving and flax weaving, and visit the Kiwi Conservation Centre to see these iconic birds and learn about how Te Puia residents are working to preserve them—the first kiwi chick born in 15 years is housed at the center. Taste authentic local flavors during a traditional hangi-inspired buffet lunch, then transfer to the Polynesian spa to soak in the geothermal waters of one of 28 mineral pools. Refreshed, return to your awaiting ship. * Moderate - Walking portions may be long and somewhat challenging with occasional step-ups, stairs and inclines. Total time walking or standing normally ranges from 1.5 to 3 hours.
