Geothermal Pools of Rotorua
Rotorua (Tauranga), New Zealand

Geothermal Pools of Rotorua

Hidden Hot Pools & Natural Springs Visit the geothermal springs of Rotorua at Lake Rotoiti, accessible only by water or air. After a narrated drive from the pier to Lake Rotoiti, board your vessel and set out across the lake. Your destination is the geothermal beach at Parengarenga Bay, where natural hot springs dot the shoreline. Paddle in the warm waters of the geothermal stream, then reboard your boat and set out for Lake Rotoiti Hot Pools, set on the shores of Manupīrua Bay. Climb into one of the hot springs and relax in lush natural surroundings, or perhaps take a dip in the freshwater lake. After your rejuvenating experience, you will enjoy a snack back on your vessel, followed by a cruise to Ōkawa Bay. As you travel, your guide will share stories and insights about the region. Learn about local legends, history, and wildlife, before finally returning to your awaiting ship. * Easy - Walking portions are generally over easy surfaces with few steps or inclines. Total time walking or standing is normally not longer than 1.5 hours.
