Makoko Floating Fishing Village

Experience Lagoon Life and Enjoy a Local Dinner Ride a canoe along the tranquil waterways of a calm lagoon and visit the Jaekel House Railway Museum. Meet your guide and drive to the shores of the Makoko floating fishing village. Upon arrival, you will board a canoe and journey through a vibrant community, passing homes on stilts and witnessing the culture of the Egun people—skilled fishermen—that have resided in these parts for generations. Take in the colorful sights of shops and the locals as they go about their daily lives, and immerse yourself in the lively atmosphere. Return to shore and walk to the Jaekel House Railway Museum, where colonial-era architecture and fascinating exhibits offer a glimpse into Lagos’s railway heritage. After, you will head to a local restaurant for a traditional dinner before returning to your awaiting ship. * Moderate - Walking portions may be long and somewhat challenging with occasional step-ups, stairs and inclines. Total time walking or standing normally ranges from 1.5 to 3 hours.
