Discover South Africa’s Wildlife Visit the family owned Schotia Private Game Reserve for an unparalleled experience in nature. Operating since 1833, the Schotia Game Reserve is home to nearly 2,000 animals and 40 different mammal species. It is the oldest private game reserve in the Cape Province. Upon arrival, you will be warmly greeted by your hosts and enjoy a welcome drink before transferring to your 4x4 vehicle. You will then head out in search of the “Big 5” and other wildlife in your open-top safari truck. During your drive, you will learn about the first pride of lions that resided here; they were the first to learn to hunt for themselves in captivity. Keep your eyes peeled for these majestic beasts, as well as rhino, elephants, zebra, monkeys, antelope and more. Return to base for a satisfying buffet lunch, then bid farewell to your rangers and head back to your ship. Please note: wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed.
