Chatsworth: The Seat of the Duke & Duchess of Devonshire

Visit a Historic Home in the Peak District Explore the historic house, gardens and art collections of Chatsworth during a Privileged Access visit. Drive by motor coach to Chatsworth, where your journey begins at the stables. Your guide will welcome you with refreshments and an introductory talk on the house, home to the Devonshire family for 17 generations. Explore the garden by buggy, passing by glasshouses, a maze with over 1,000 English yews and the Emperor Fountain, once the tallest gravity-fed fountain in the world. Return to the stables for lunch featuring ingredients fresh from the estate, followed by a guided tour of the house and its impressive art collection. In a dedicated viewing gallery, join a collections specialist as you peruse a selection of literary treasures, then conclude your day in the Sculpture Gallery—home to neoclassical works by Antonio Canova—before a farewell drink atop the Belvedere Tower. * Moderate - Walking portions may be long and somewhat challenging with occasional step-ups, stairs and inclines. Total time walking or standing normally ranges from 1.5 to 3 hours.
