Tropical Garden Nature Walk
The “Punchbowl” and Hawaiian Flora See some of the island’s impressive geology and take a walk through lush greenery at a tropical garden. Embark on a scenic drive to Puowaina, an extinct volcanic crater known as the “Punchbowl,” formed more than 75,000 years ago. Today, it is home to the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, the final resting place of more than 50,000 military personnel who lost their lives. After time for reflection, head to a tropical garden, where you will set out on a guided walk through the lush greenery. As you stroll along shaded paths flanked by trees, you will hear tales from your guide about the area and the local culture. Later, as you journey back to your ship, pass by the ‘Iolani Palace, the only royal palace in the United States which served as an official royal residence for the kingdom’s ruling monarch, until it was overthrown in 1893. * Demanding - Physically challenging activities, including extensive walks, hiking, riding, water sports, and high altitude activities.
