Jewels of Kauai
Natural Beauty of Allerton & McBryde Garden Admire the native flora and diverse topography of Kauai during visits to two stunning botanical gardens. The National Tropical Botanical Garden is a network of five public gardens, each dedicated to preserving endangered plant species; three of these gardens are located on Kauai, the “Garden Island.” Embark on a scenic drive, stopping for photos at the popular Spouting Horn blowhole. At the Allerton Garden, enjoy a guided tour through outdoor rooms and see rippling pools, fountains and sculptures that were created by artist Robert Allerton and his son, John Gregg Allerton. Afterward, travel deeper into the upper Lawa’i Valley to the McBryde Garden, home to more than 6,000 rare and endangered plant species from throughout the Pacific Basin and the world. Following lunch, set off on a leisurely walk along a lush trail to view rare plant species and a beautiful waterfall. * Moderate - Walking portions may be long and somewhat challenging with occasional step-ups, stairs and inclines. Total time walking or standing normally ranges from 1.5 to 3 hours.
