Scotland’s East Coast Discovery

Fishing Villages, Peterhead Prison Museum & Fraserburgh Traverse the rugged shoreline of eastern Scotland during a full-day excursion to uncover the region’s past. Head north along the coastline, passing through coastal communities such as Stonehaven and Gourdon, a historic fishing village with a natural harbor. Discover the maritime heritage of these charming locales before continuing to the Peterhead Prison Museum. Established in 1888, this Victorian site was once Scotland’s most notorious high-security prison; today the museum offers an immersive glimpse into life behind bars. Step into the past as you walk through the prison blocks and discover the stories of former guards and inmates. After, enjoy lunch before returning to your coach and journeying to Fraserburgh, a vibrant harbor town that is home to Scotland’s first lighthouse. Finally, drive along the coast to return to Aberdeen. * Moderate - Walking portions may be long and somewhat challenging with occasional step-ups, stairs and inclines. Total time walking or standing normally ranges from 1.5 to 3 hours.
