Nestled at the east end of mainland Orkney and bordered by the North Sea, the picturesque Deerness Peninsula offers sweeping panoramas of the surrounding landscapes. Travel to this scenic spot and take in the views of Orkney’s rugged coastline and nearby Copinsay, an uninhabited island and designated Special Protection Area, before heading to the Deerness Distillery. This award-winning, family-owned distillery produces handcrafted spirits including a range of gins, coffee liqueur and premium vodka. Gain insight into the processes involved in the creation of each spirit, then settle in to sample some of the distillery’s offerings, followed by a selection of light bites including Orkney cheese, shortbread and bannocks, a scone-like Scottish bread.
