Visit Elmina Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the oldest European building in sub-Saharan Africa. Glimpse its whitewashed walls and ocean-facing battlements before exploring the township further. Following lunch at a local restaurant, continue to Cape Coast Castle. Originally established as a trading post during the 16th century, it has been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site alongside Elmina Castle and other former trading posts along the Ghanaian coast. * Moderate - Walking portions may be long and somewhat challenging with occasional step-ups, stairs and inclines.
