Bellevue Forest Reserve

Up-close Encounter with Giraffe Journey to the Bellevue Forest Reserve and take a walk with the park’s friendly giants. Set in the greater Addo region, enjoy a trek through the heart of the Addo valley bushveld with resident giraffes. After a warm welcome and refreshments, set out with your highly experienced Field Guides Association of Southern Africa trails guide on a short game drive, keeping your eyes peeled for wildlife. The park is home to three of the “Big 5,” including Cape buffalo, lions and leopards. Once your ranger has located the giraffes, you will set off on foot, while still maintaining a safe distance. Cap you visit with a sighting of feeding time for the Cape buffalo; they are fed and monitored at the reserve daily. Return to the lodge for snacks and a glass of sparkling wine before heading back to your ship. * Demanding - Physically challenging activities, including extensive walks, hiking, riding, water sports, and high altitude activities. Activities by foot may contain difficult, unpaved surfaces and/or multiple stairs and steep inclines. Total time walking or standing may exceed 3 hours.
